The summer school gathers together the students, lecturers, scholars and industries involved in DESEM, and provide a framework for interaction through talks, presentations, field-trips and social activities. Each student will attend two summer schools - one at the end of their first and second year. Here they will attend presentations by invited speakers on both technical and non-technical issues, present their own project work and will collaborate with other DESEM students on shared tasks.
Summer schools will typically involve a week of preparation where students will cooperate electronically on project work, followed by a week of lectures and presentations. As students dissertations will be examined at the programme wide summer schools it is essential that all students attend. Students must pass both summer schools in order to progress on the course. Information regarding the summer school role is documented below. Previous summer school information can be found in the above 'summer school' tab.
Summer School 2017 will take place in University of St. Andrews, Scotland from 3rd July - 8th July 2017.
